About A.T.C.

The core business/mandate of Automation Technology College is to provide quality tertiary vocational education/training and certification.

Automation Technology College Ltd. (A.T.C.) was started in January 1997 by George West with an enrollment of seven (7) students. Mr. George West, a graduate Electrical and Instrument Engineer with over thirty years experience, committed himself to sharing his experience and expertise with the nation by opening up this Technical College.

The College continued to grow and to gain recognition for the quality of its graduates:

  • Between 2000 and present, A.T.C. students have received dozens of City and Guilds Medals of Excellence – placing first in the world. In 2013, A.T.C. and one other institution earned the highest number of City & Guilds Medals of Excellence in the world.
  • In 2010, A.T.C. had the honour of being the first institution in Trinidad and Tobago to be awarded two full scholarships from the City and Guilds International Foundation Bursary Fund.
  • In 2013 City and Guilds awarded City & Guilds Medal of Excellence winner Ms. Lydia Richardson the prestigious Lion Award for International Learner of the Year.

Under the pressure of growing demand, the College expanded and is now located in two areas namely: San Fernando and Curepe. The College currently offers a wide variety of internationally recognized programmes accredited and certified by established institutions such as City and Guilds of London and NEBOSH.
