Draughting & ConstructionThe Draughting programmes prepare students for employment as draughtsmen. Draughtsmen construct technical drawings and plans which show how to build a product or structure. The technical drawings are usually based on technical details, specifications and calculations from engineers, surveyors and architects. Accordingly, many draughtsmen are employed by architectural, engineering and construction firms as in-house draughtsmen. The construction industry is concerned with activities such as site preparation and site modification and with the building, repair, maintenance, modification and improvement of structures such as houses, offices, factories, roads, bridges etc. The Construction programme will equip a student with a wide range of knowledge appropriate for a variety of building projects.
