Process Technology

These programmes prepare students for employment as process technicians / operators in the chemical process industry.

Chemical process industries include the petroleum industry (oil and gas), the petrochemical industry (plastics, synthetic rubbers and fibers) and other industries involved in chemical processing. Process technicians have many responsibilities including controlling, monitoring and troubleshooting process systems and instrumentation and operating the valves, pumps, compressors, boilers and furnaces operating in chemical plants and refineries.
